Jane M. (Morse) Hall

February 13, 1919 — June 30, 2014

PRINCETON - Jane M. (Morse) Hall, 95, of Princeton passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014, at UMass Memorial Healthcare, Belmont Street. Born in Worcester, Jane was the daughter of Fred A. and Ruth (Reynolds) Morse and lived in Holden before moving to Princeton in 1960.

Jane graduated from North High School and Salter's School both in Worcester and worked at Heald Machine Co. prior to her marriage. After raising her two children,Dave and Judy, Jane along with her dear friend, Virginia Field, opened and operated Carriage House Antiques in Princeton that they ran for several years. She also worked part-time for the U.S. Post Office in Princeton.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Princeton. Jane was an energetic and vibrant woman, passionately engaging herself in all aspects of her life. She enjoyed playing bridge at the Princeton Senior Center, oil painting, tole painting, yoga and baking pies and chocolate chip cookies.

Jane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She always looked forward to the annual vacations at the summer cottage in Steuben, Maine.

Her beloved husband of 54 years, Charles H. Hall, died in 1996. She is survived by her son, David L. Hall and his wife, Susan of Princeton; her daughter, Judith R. Bice and her husband, Christopher of Vancouver, Washington; five grand and several great-grandchildren, Jason C. Bice and his wife, Amy of Brush Prairie, Washington and their children, Elsa and Brooke; Jessica J. Fjeldos and her husband, Eric of Ridgefield, Washington and their children, Kennadie, Tyler, Colton and Jacob; Tyler G. Bice of Portland, Oregon; Caitlin A. Hall of Bozeman, Montana; and Erik D. Hall of Aspen, Colorado.

A memorial service honoring Jane's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, at the First Congregational Church of Princeton, 14 Mountain Rd. The Rev. Linda Michel will be officiating. Interment will be private at Woodlawn Cemetery in Princeton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Princeton, 14 Mountain Rd., Princeton, MA 01541, or to the Princeton Senior Center, c/o Princeton Council on Aging, 6 Town Hall Dr., Princeton, MA 01541. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden is assisting the family with arrangements.
