Life Legacy
WORCESTER – Jane R. (Misilo) Zinkus, 101, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2017 under the loving care of her family and the dedicated and caring staff at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. She was born in Worcester on November 28, 1915, the daughter of Michael and Katherine (Sawa) Misilo. Jane was a lifelong Worcester resident. She attended Worcester schools. She spent her life caring for her family as a devoted homemaker. Jane was proud of her Polish heritage. She enjoyed cooking and baking Polish dishes. Later in life, Jane became an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, and rarely missed a game on television. She was a longtime member of St. George Parish in Worcester. Jane was the devoted wife of the late Vincent G. Zinkus, who died in 1961. She will be lovingly missed by her daughter, Judith Zinkus of Worcester, with whom she lived; as well several nieces and nephews including, Susan Clemente, Kathryn Fay, Karen Leahy, Christine Ricciardi, Carol Ann McKim, Thaddeus, Frederick and Fran Misilo, Peter, Robert, George and Gregory Zinkus; and several grand nephews and grand nieces. She was also predeceased by son, Daniel Zinkus who died in 2002 and her four brothers, Walter, Joseph, Frederick and Thaddeus. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jane’s family on Saturday, February 18, from 9-10 a.m. at St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. John’s Food for the Poor Program, 44 Temple Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
