HOLDEN - Jane I. (Lindstrom) Foley, 95, passed away peacefully at her home with her three children by her side on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Born and raised in Worcester, she was the daughter of William and Esther (Downey) Lindstrom and lived most of her life in Holden. She was the loving wife of her husband, Paul J. Foley, for 64 years (who passed in 2014).
Jane will be lovingly missed and remembered by her children, Brian P. Foley and his wife Darlene of East Harwich, Beth J. Foley of Hubbardston, Paula J. Paquette and her husband William of Hubbardston; four grandchildren, Ryan and Caitlin Foley, and Nicole and April Paquette; three great-grandchildren, Conor Foley, Autumn Philips and Jaxon Matson; and several nephews and nieces. Jane is predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Calvin Lindstrom, and her sister, Pauline Swenson.
Jane was devoted to her family and proud of their successes, character, and values. Jane was considered an integral part of her husband's success, always supportive and by his side. She was a lifetime member of Worcester Country Club. She enjoyed domestic travels with her husband, with their frequent visits to Bermuda being her favorite. For 35 years, she enjoyed her Cape Cod home in Brewster, providing wonderful memories for her family. She was known as the family "Matriarch," holding court until her passing. As an accomplished artist, her oil paintings have been enjoyed and admired by many. Throughout her life, Jane remained active in her creative endeavors.
A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, May 18, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery in Holden. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606 or to the Gale Free Library, 23 Highland Street, Holden, MA 01520.
