HOLDEN – Dr. Nicholas J. Andreson, 67, of 18 Banbury Lane died Saturday, December 25, 2004, at home in the presence of his loving family after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 34 years, Janet (Demakes) Andreson; a daughter, Jamie Nicole Andreson of Holden; a sister, Marianne Pappas of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; two nieces, Mimi Shea of Rye, NY and Lisa Field of Cleveland, OH; three nephews, Elias, Timothy and Andrew Demakes all of Boston; and numerous cousins. He was born in Worcester the son of James N. and Sophia (Spilios) Andreson and lived 33 years in Holden.

Dr. Andreson graduated from Classical High School in Worcester, the University of Vermont in Burlington, where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, and from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. He practiced general dentistry in Worcester for 35 years. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Worcester, Massachusetts Dental Society and the Worcester District Dental Society. He was a member of the Worcester Country Club for 25 years, was active in its Men’s Golf League and once held the Governor’s Cup title. He served as a Lieutenant in the United States Army.

Dr. Andreson was an avid Red Sox fan and took great comfort in knowing that in his lifetime he experienced the Red Sox winning the World Series.

The funeral service for Dr. Andreson will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 29, in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A Trisagion Service will be held during the calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to in memory of Dr. Nicholas J. Andreson, Special Gifts Fund, St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
