RUTLAND – James W. Dougall, 83, of 27 Forest Hill Drive, died Saturday, September 10, 2005, in the Wachusett Extended Care Facility, Holden after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 21 years, Marilyn F. (Dodge) Griffin Dougall; three sisters, Doris Rondeau, Lillian Scott and Catherine Cabana all of Worcester; two step-sons; six grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his first wife, Marie (Keddy) Dougall, and his sister, Margaret Pozzesseie. He was born and raised in Worcester, the son of William and Adjana Dougall, and moved to Rutland in 1984.
Mr. Dougall worked at Standard Foundry in Worcester for 43 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of the AFCIO, a life member of American Legion Post 5 in Worcester, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Worcester and a former member of the Frohsinn Club in Shrewsbury. He was a World War II Army Veteran and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.
A graveside service for Mr. Dougall will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013.
