STERLING – James D. Temple, 61 of Sterling died suddenly on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. He was born in Clinton to the late Raymond F. and Janet E. (Elliott) Temple and was a lifelong resident of Sterling.
Jim graduated from Montachusett Regional Vocational High School and worked for the Sterling School System for more than 20 years.
Jim was a member of the Eight-Point Sportsman’s Club, Sterling Grange, Sterling Fire Department for more than 20 years, the Hiram O. Taylor Squadron of the Sons of the American Legion for 50 years for whom he participated in the Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day observances each year.
He enjoyed participating in the Wachusett Fireman’s Muster for many years, playing pitch at the Legion Hall and following the Boston Red Sox.
Jim is survived by brothers Robert E. Temple (Cindy) and Earl W. Temple (Debbie) and sisters Barbara DeStefano, Marjorie Johnson and Beverly Temple, sister-in-law Jeanette Temple and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother Donald Temple and his brother-in-law Jeffrey Johnson.
A burial service will be held for family and friends on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 5:30 pm in Hillside Cemetery, Clinton Rd (Rte 62) in Sterling.
