James C. Taubert

August 6, 1965 — February 25, 2016

STERLING – James C. Taubert, 50, died peacefully at home on Thursday, February 25, 2016, after a long battle with brain cancer.  He was born in Worcester on August 6, 1965. He lived in Worcester until he was ten and then moved to Sterling where he spent the last 40 years in a town he loved.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Sandy (Parretti) Taubert, his son, Joseph and daughter, Jessica; his mother, Ethel (Murphy) Taubert of Sterling; brothers, Mark Taubert and his wife, Sharon of Holden and Frederick Taubert and his wife, Mary of Millbury; and sisters, Cynthia and her husband, Herbert French III of Boylston and Kathleen and her husband, George Rensky of Sterling; along with several nieces and nephews.  His daughter, Kayla Marie Taubert, and his father, Richard H. Taubert, predeceased him.

Jim graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in Holden and attended Central New England College in the electrical engineering program. He worked as an electrical apprentice for Maki Electric and E.D.I Electrical while attending school to eventually become a master electrician.  He began his own electrical business in 2002 and enjoyed meeting people and helping them with their electrical issues.  He helped to mentor other electricians and took pride in his work.  He was an active member of the Worcester County Electrical League.  Jim was an avid skier and enjoyed boating, fishing and spending summers on the beaches of Cape Cod.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jim’s family on Sunday, February 28 from 2-5pm at the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling.  His funeral will be held on Monday, February 29, from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Sterling.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made towards Joseph and Jessica’s college fund by sending checks payable to "Joseph and Jessica Taubert", c/o Clinton Savings Bank, 1 Main St., Sterling, MA 01564.  To share a memory or leave an online condolence, please "sign the guest book" on this page.
