James M. Phelan

HOLDEN - James M. Phelan, 58, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 12, 2019. He was born in Worcester on April 8, 1961.
He is survived by his father, Thomas J. Phelan; his step-mother, Jane Harper Phelan; three brothers, David P. Phelan, Steven A. Phelan and Thomas S. Phelan; his daughter, Breanna Phelan; and three sons, Jacob Phelan, James Phelan and Scott Phelan.
James attended Burncoat Jr. High School and South High School in Worcester. Early on, he worked in property management for local and Boston area apartment and condo units. He later owned and operated a commercial office and home cleaning service. For the past several years, James owned an interior/exterior painting service, J. Phelan Painting Co.
James loved music and formed and played with local bands. He was an especially gifted drummer. One of his greatest joys was to practice his drums alongside his youngest son, Jacob, who would accompany him on his own drum set just like dad's. He loved his family deeply and he will be dearly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Friday, Junes 21, 2019 at St. George's Church, 38 Brattle St., Worcester. To share a memory or offer a condolence visit the Tribute Wall. The family respectfully requests that NO FLOWERS be sent.
