Biography
LEOMINSTER/LANCASTER – James C. MacAulay, 81, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Mass General Hospital in Boston after an illness. He was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada, the son of Peter and Ellen (McEachern) MacAulay and had lived in Maynard and Lancaster before moving to Leominster 10 years ago.
He leaves his loving wife of 61 years, Rosina M. (MacDonald) MacAulay; two sons, Stephen MacAulay and his wife, Kathy of Sterling and David W. MacAulay of Clinton; a daughter, Charlotte Ebersole and her companion Tom of Gardner; a sister, Camilla MacPhee of Prince Edward Island; nine grandchildren, Chris, Travis, Brittney, Shawn, Cheri, Kim, Aaron, Andrea and Joe; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by three brothers, Joe, Stephen and Ronald MacAulay and two sisters, Marjorie MacLeod and Mary MacAulay.
James worked at Digital Corp for 20 years retiring in 1993. Previously, he was a retail manager for A&P throughout the New England area. He was a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Church and was an avid hockey fan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 9, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. Funeral services for James will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, June 10, with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Family of Nazareth Church, 750 Union Street, Leominster, MA 01453. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family of Nazareth Church Building Fund.
