MARLBORO – James J. Murphy, 62, formerly of Marlboro, died Sunday, October 31, 2004, after a two year battle with cancer.
He leaves his former wife, Mary Ann (McConnon) Murphy of Auburn; a son, Brian M. Murphy of San Francisco, California; a daughter, Colleen A. Altison of Hubbardston; two brothers, William Murphy of Levittown, New York, and Robert Murphy of Hazlet, New Jersey; a sister, Donna Lozano of Georgia; nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Raymond and Thomas Murphy, predeceased him. He was born in the Bronx, New York, son of James P. and Rita (McCarthy) Murphy, and had lived in Marlboro for many years.
Mr. Murphy worked as a Concierge in Ft. Lee, New Jersey. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the Red Sox and Patriots.
The Funeral Mass for Mr. Murphy will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, in St. Columba’s Church, 10 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. A calling hour will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
