James L. Demarco

April 6, 1956 — February 7, 2025

HOLDEN - James L. DeMarco, 68, beloved husband of Linda (Blanchard) DeMarco, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, February 7, 2025. Born and raised in Worcester, Jim was the son of the late Mario and Rae (Lopriore) DeMarco.

After attending Northeast Institute of Industrial Technology, Jim went on to enjoy a long career as an HVAC contractor. He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed collecting and restoring classic cars, including his 1967 Chevrolet C10. He was a member of several classic car clubs, and he especially enjoyed attending car shows with his friends and family. First and foremost, Jim loved his family. Nothing brought him more joy than fishing and gardening with his grandchildren. He loved attending his grandkids' soccer and basketball games.

Jim coached his daughters' softball teams and went on to be the Director of Holden Girl's Softball League for 13 years. He was the recipient of Holden's Good Neighbor Award in 2006. The award was in recognition of volunteer service to the citizens of Holden.
He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife of 47 years, Linda DeMarco of Holden; his son, Andrew DeMarco of Holden; three daughters, Elizabeth Abdeljaber and her husband, Aiman of Shrewsbury, Emily Fleming and her husband, Thomas of Holden and Rebecca DeMarco and her wife, Alanna of Jefferson; six grandchildren, Zaid, Tariq, Zayna, Layla, Amelia and Valerie; and his sister, Laurie Colorio of West Boylston. Jim is predeceased by his son, James.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11 at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton.
