Rutland - Jacqueline M. (Belisle) Oliver, 93, died peacefully on Monday, October 11, 2021, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, Worcester. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Marie R. and Dr. Eugene S. Belisle and lived most of her life in Rutland.
Jacqueline graduated from Rutland High School and later earned a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching from Assumption College. She married her one true love, the late Chester T. Oliver, Jr. in 1950 and shared 39 years of marriage with him before his passing in 1989.
Jacqueline's faith guided her throughout her life. She was a devout member and active volunteer at St. Patrick's Church in Rutland for many years. Outside of the church, she chose to make helping others her life's work. Jacqueline began her career as an Administrative Assistant at the former VA Hospital in Rutland, before pursuing her passion as a Special Education Teacher for the Town of Hubbardston. She taught for 17 years and helped many students grasp the tools they needed to live happy and fulfilled lives. After retiring from teaching Jacqueline continued to volunteer at St. Patrick's Church and also volunteered with the Rutland Historical Society.
Jacqueline is survived by her son, Michael E. Oliver and his wife, Cathi of China, Michigan; her daughter, Deborah A. Hartley of Rutland; her grandsons, Jeffrey Prucnal and Christopher Prucnal; and her great-grandson, Colby Prucnal. She was also predeceased by her brother, Alexander J. Belisle, Sr. in 2004 and her grandson, Jason Oliver.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 20th at St. Patrick's Church, 258 Main St., Rutland. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery, Main St., Rutland.
