Biography
HOLDEN – Jacob “Jake” T. Bratkon, 17, the loving son of Thomas J. and Patricia A. (Booth) Bratkon of Holden, died Wednesday, September 7, 2011, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Besides his parents, he is survived by and will be greatly missed by his sister, Sammi Bratkon, his aunts Karen wife of John Cooney, Linda wife of Kevin Langhill, Debbie Booth, Debbie Bratkon and uncles Ed and his wife Kelly Booth, Bobby and his wife Pam Fraser, Vin and his wife Denise Bratkon, numerous cousins and so many friends.
He was born in Worcester and lived his life in Holden. Jake attended Holden Schools and was presently a senior at Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School in Fitchburg. Because of his love for cars (especially Fords) Jake worked part-time at Harr Auto Body in Worcester, and after graduation, was planning on a full-time career in Automotive Restoration. He was an avid Boston sports fan, but his real devotion was serving others. As a member of Faith Baptist Church in Auburn, he was a leader in both its youth groups and sports camps. He worshipped wholeheartedly, singing and dancing before the Lord and inspiring others to do the same. He was kind-hearted and his love for the Lord led him on two mission trips to the Dominican Republic. Jake will remain to be an inspiration to all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 12, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
