Jack Harrison Thomas

April 9, 1997 — October 28, 2021

WORCESTER - Jack Thomas, 24, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021.
Jack was born in Falls Church, VA on April 9, 1997. He lived in West Boylston and Worcester his entire life. Jack was an avid music fan from the time he could first hold a toy guitar. His encyclopedic knowledge of classic rock bands, music, and musicians was legendary among everyone who knew him. His fondest memories were seeing his rock-and-roll heroes play live. Jack’s first concert at the age of six was Bruce Springsteen, setting a high bar for future concerts including The Who, The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Mavis Staples, Arlo Guthrie, Buddy Guy, Steve Earle, Jimmy Cliff and many more. He played guitar with the School of Rock, and was the rhythm guitarist, lead vocalist, and songwriter for the band Queen City Avenue. Jack also enjoyed jam sessions with friends or just the joy and comfort of playing for himself.

Jack attended RCS Learning Center, Crossroads School and Doctor Franklin Perkins School, from which he graduated. He was employed at Home Depot in Worcester in the Garden Center. Jack was a gentle soul with a generous and compassionate heart. Jack would love if, in his memory, people would offer random acts of kindness to those who feel that they don’t fit in.
Jack is survived by his parents, Ward and Kari (Krushensky) Thomas and his brother Patrick Thomas of West Boylston; his maternal grandparents, Richard and Arvene Krushensky of Dunn Loring, VA; his paternal grandparents, Edward and Jo Ann Thomas of Arlington, VA; his aunt, Wendy Thomas Brown and her husband, Harry; his cousins Harrison, Brogan and Teaghan of Virginia Beach, VA; his uncle, Wade Thomas and his wife, Lisa and cousin Jake of Sherman Oaks, CA; many beloved extended family members in California; and his love, Amy Cunningham of Auburn. He had a wonderful group of friends who will also miss him dearly.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the various organizations that Jack supported including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105; the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL, 60601 and to the Old Friends’ Senior Dog Sanctuary, ofsds.org. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
