Isabella Beatrice Hennessey

August 1, 1916 — January 8, 2012

CHARLTON/HOLDEN – Isabella Beatrice “Betty” (Parajeckas) Hennessey of Charlton, formerly of Holden, passed away peacefully under the loving care of the staff at the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center, Charlton, on Sunday, January 8, 2012, with her family by her side. She was 95.

Her husband of 46 years, William F. Hennessey, Sr., died in 1986. She leaves her loving children, Denise A. Fogarty, Karen M. Janes and Stephen Janes, all of Charlton and formerly of Holden, William F. Hennessey, Jr. and his wife Marie of Cape Cod and Florida, and James T. Hennessey and his wife Lauren of Rutland; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Camille Parajeckas of Worcester, many nephews and nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces. Her sister and best friend, Veronica “Vera” M. Savage died in 2010; her brother, Albert R. Parajeckas of Worcester predeceased her in 1990; and her sister, Mary Francis Alarie died in 2001.

Betty was born and raised in Worcester, a daughter of Victor A. and Antoinette (Azelskas) Parajeckas, and lived in Worcester and many years in Holden before moving to Glen Echo Lake in Charlton in 1998. She graduated from St. Casimir’s School in Worcester, and was a former member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson and their Women’s Guild. She lived for her children, grand and great-grandchildren with whom referred to her as “Nana”. She especially enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.

Betty’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the entire second floor SNF staff at Overlook for their unending compassion, love, and extraordinary care given to her. She was truly a part of their family.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Betty’s family at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, and again from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11. A procession will follow to St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson for an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center, Recreational Department, 88 Masonic Home Road, Charlton, MA 01507.
