HOLDEN/BELFAST, ME ~ Isabel Jean (Burnett) Muzzy of Belfast, ME, formerly of Holden, MA, died on April 17, 2012 at the age of 90 with family at her side.
Isabel was the daughter of the late Robert and Jean Burnett. She was a resident of Holden for 62 years where she raised her family, worked as secretary to the school superintendent and was active in the Holden Congregational Church and other volunteer activities. During the last 5 years she lived at the home of her daughter Kathy. Kathy along with Carol and friends gave her a wonderful new life where she established herself as an active member of the Belfast community.
Isabel was predeceased by her loving husband, Keith S. Muzzy of Holden, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage. She was the beloved mother of Gregory E. Muzzy and his wife, Donna, of Wayland, Gail A. Perkins of Sturbridge, Keith S. Muzzy, Jr. of West Tremont, ME and Kathy I. Muzzy and her partner, Carol Bauss, of Belfast ME; the loving grandmother of Chris and Scot Muzzy, Beth Markell, Kelly Perkins, Sarah and Kate Muzzy, Erin Abrams, and True and Jeremiah Muzzy; and 11 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 20th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, in the First Congregational Church of Holden, 1180 Main St., Holden, MA 01520. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Care Fund at the Holden Congregational Church or to the Friends at the Gale Free Library, 23 Highland Street, Holden, MA 01520.
