Biography
WORCESTER - Irwin L. Berger, 85, died at the Jewish Healthcare Center on Thursday, January 7th.
He leaves two nephews, Dr. Jeffrey Cohen and his wife, Nina of Worcester and Mitchell Cohen of Natick; a grand-nephew, Michael Cohen of Burlington, VT; a grand-niece, Jennifer Cohen of Atlanta, GA; and a very dear friend, James Oakar of New York City.
He was born in the Bronx, New York and was a son of Jacob and Ida (Berman) Berger and had lived in Manhattan from 1969 to 2013, then moving to Worcester.
He was an accountant for many years.
He loved New York. He loved old movies. He loved his family.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 2PM ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 8TH IN THE JEWISH HEALTHCARE CENTER, 629 SALISBURY STREET, WORCESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN. Burial will be in B’Nai Brith Cemetery.
