Irene L. (Lewis) Bolton

HOLDEN - Irene L. (Lewis) Bolton, 88, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017, at Rose Monahan Hospice Home after an illness. She was born in Dorchester, the daughter of William J. and Harriet (Bennett) Lewis and had lived most of her life in Holden.Her loving husband of 55 years, William R. Bolton, Jr., passed away in 2011. Irene leaves her son, William R. Bolton III and his wife, Rita of Lowell; her daughter, Amy B. Polito of Charlton; two grandsons, Dan Polito of Ashland and Ben Polito of Plainville; her great-granddaughter Anna Marie; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers, William and James Lewis.Irene was a bank teller for over thirty years at Mechanics Bank, now Bank of America, throughout Worcester County before retiring.  She loved spending time with her grandsons, vacationing in Maine and was an avid reader.Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, November 9th from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, 10 Judith Road, Worcester, MA 01602.
