RUTLAND - Irene Anne (Lavallee) LaCanfora, 75, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, March 5, 2005, surrounded by her loving family after a long illness.
She leaves her husband of 54 years, Francis R. LaCanfora; her children, Rosalie C. & Michael Pavlis, Mary R. & James Hoey, Francine A. & Steve Flattery, Rita A. & Peter Campanale, Robert R. & Diana LaCanfora, Anna-Maria R. & Jake Rzuczek and Christina LaCanfora; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A son, Rocco LaCanfora, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Wilfred and Corinna (Robillard) Lavallee, and had lived in Auburn and North Oxford before moving to Rutland. Irene and her husband Frank have lived in Rutland for 52 years where they converted the District 5 Muschopauge one room school house into their home, keeping the original lines of the schoolhouse. She had worked for 35 years at White’s Cleaners in Holden. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and the Rutland Senior Center. She was an Artisan of cross-stitch and loved cats.
The funeral Mass for Mrs. LaCanfora will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, March 9, in St. Patrick’s Church, 290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester. A calling hour will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
