LEXINGTON - llene (Rose) Burwick, 78, of Lexington, MA, beloved wife of Stanley Burwick of 52 years passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Lahey Hospital with her family by her side.
Ilene was born in Hartford on February 28, 1946, to the late Irving and Ethel (Mehlman) Rose. She was a graduate of Conard High School and went to UCONN. In college, she lived with a family when she traveled to Mexico and learned Spanish. After college, she taught ESL in Chelsea, MA. Throughout her marriage, she worked with her husband Stan at their business Prime Value Mart. She was a member of Temple Beth Elohim for over 30 years and was part of their sisterhood. llene was a great mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to so many.
Ilene had such a big heart and cared for everyone around her. She never forgot birthdays, graduations, and anniversaries, always sending cards to add that personal touch. Her thoughtful gestures and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed. Ilene is survived by her loving husband Stan, her son Brian of Lexington, and her daughter Alissa of Boston. She also leaves behind cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Ilene's legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Dana-Farber Boston, MA or a charity of the donor's choice in Ilene's memory. Services will be held on Sunday, May 26th at 11am at Beit Olam Cemetery, 60 Old Sudbury Road, Wayland, MA 01778. All friends and family are welcome to pay their respects.
