Ida (Godin) Shapiro

WORCESTER – Ida (Godin) Shapiro, age 92, died on Sunday, July 15th in St. Vincent Hospital.Her husband of 52 years, Raphael Shapiro, died in 2004. She leaves a son, Leonid Shapiro and a daughter, Tamara Priborkina from Worcester; and two granddaughters, Rita and Nina Shapiro. She was born in Bobruisk, Belarus and came to Worcester in 1994.She had a beautiful soprano voice and she loved to perform Yiddish songs including, “Varenichkes and Kuzine” and “In der Litvish.”FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 12 NOON ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 18, 2018 AT THE BETH ISRAEL SYNAGOGUE, 15 JAMESBURY DRIVE, WORCESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN.
