WORCESTER - Ibolya Eva (Majoros) Ripsz, 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital. Born in Ibrany, Hungary, she was the daughter of the late Ferenc and Borbala (Kertesz) Majoros.
Together with her son, Gabor, she came to the United States in 1969, earning her citizenship in 1976. Soon after her arrival, Eva began her career at Jamesbury Corporation where she offered her talent as the first female engineering draftsperson, retiring in 1999 after 30 years of dedicated service.
A proud member of the Red Hat Society for many years, Eva's love for life and fun social gatherings shone brightly. She was fiercely proud of her Hungarian heritage, a part of her identity that she cherished deeply. Eva greatly beloved her annual trips back to visit Budapest and her remaining family.
Eva's green thumb and passion for gardening and landscaping were evident in her beautiful yard. She also had a flare for interior design and loved adorning her home with decorative touches that made it warm and inviting. For Eva, home was not just a place to live, but a gathering spot where she could share her love and joy with family and friends. Hosting them often when she prepared traditional Hungarian meals, she treasured the moments spent together, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come. She especially loved the time spent with her grandchildren during sleepovers at her home, as well as relaxing on her front porch with her adoring dog Charlie.
She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her son, Gabor Hajos and his wife, Deanna of Holden and her three grandchildren, Alyssa, Gabrielle, and Alexander Hajos, as well as her nieces Mary Powers of Holden, Suzy Boyd and Veronika Bentekovics of Worcester, and her nephew Frank Bentekovics of Worcester.
