WORCESTER – Daniel I. Berthiaume, 88, of 14 Brattle Street, Worcester, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, in Lanessa Extended Care in Webster after an illness.
He leaves his wife 62 years, Regina M. (Fornier) Berthiaume; two daughters, Joyce M. Trychon and her husband Ronald of Webster and Ann M. Smith and her husband Glen of Worcester; two brothers, Anthony Berthiaume of Shrewsbury and Richard Berthiaume of Auburn; a sister, Emma Donaghue of Leicester; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Six brothers, Clarence, Raymond, Wilfred, Louis, Albert, and Henry Berthiaume and two sisters, May Groleau and Irene Codere, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, the son of Alexander and Mary (Sweet) Berthiaume and lived here all his life.
Mr. Berthiaume worked 30 years for Philip L. Buxton Company in Worcester, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a World War II Army Veteran serving as a Staff Sergeant in the European African Middle Eastern Theatre.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 13, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Mr. Berthiaume will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1326 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
