HOLDEN – B. Justin Hughes, 24, of 688 Bullard Street, died on Sunday, July 22, 2007.
He leaves his parents, Brian E. and Diane M. (Galgani) Hughes; maternal grandmother, Leona M. (Lavin) Galgani of Holden; a paternal grandmother, Vivian D. (Flynn) Hughes of Holden; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was born in Framingham and lived most of his life in Holden.
Justin attended Holden schools and played Massachusetts Premier League Soccer as well as ice hockey. He graduated in 2001 from Saint John’s High School in Shrewsbury where he played varsity soccer for three years and varsity hockey for all four years. He graduated cum laude from Norwich University in 2006. While at Norwich, he matriculated through the core cadet program, played soccer, and instituted the “Big Brother” program. He also served an internship in Washington, DC, with the Federal Parole Commission. After graduating college, Justin traveled to South America and taught English to Chilean students in Puntas Arenas, Chile. He later visited Easter Island. Most recently, Justin worked as an account executive with Countrywide, a local financial company.
Justin cherished the lifetime friendships made at both Saint John’s High School and Norwich University. Wherever Justin went he made friends. His family and friends were the joy of his life.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 26th , in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Justin will be held on Friday from the funeral home with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
