RUTLAND – Jean H. (Stockwell) Heebner, after 85 full years, died peacefully in Holden Nursing Home on Thursday, May 24, 2007.
Jean leaves two sons and three daughters, QMC, USN, Ret. Paul A. Heebner and his wife Marjorie of Henderson, NV and Ret. LTG David K. Heebner and his wife Bonnie of Birmingham, MI, Nancy J. Congdon of Rutland, Beth A. Kent and her husband Paul and Wendy L. Perkins and her fiancé Thomas, all of Brookfield, and their father, Kenneth F. Heebner of Gardner; two brothers, Arthur Stockwell of Brewster and Russell Stockwell and his wife Sandra of Orleans; nine grandchildren, Heather Boucher, Suzanne Huard, Jason Heebner, Cheryl Russell, U.S. Army CPT Kenneth Heebner, Kevin Heebner, Andrew Kent, Julie Kent and Katelyn Perkins; nine great-grandchildren; and five nephews. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Arthur F. and Helen (Goodacre) Stockwell.
A graduate of Commerce High School, Jean resided in Worcester for 44 years, then moved to Rutland where she lived until 2002. Jean was a member of the First Congregational Church of Rutland. She worked in the cafeterias at Wachusett Regional High School and the Devereaux School. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards and playing the organ. She loved babies, going to the beach, and doing crossword puzzles. Family vacations were always a highlight for Jean and she was extremely proud of her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral service for Jean will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30th, in the First Congregational Church of Rutland, 264 Main Street (Rte. 122A). Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
