Biography
WESTBOROUGH - Houda (Alamir) Gammal passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 at the UMass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus in Worcester. Born in Damascus, Syria, Houda was a daughter of Mariam (Elkhaouli) and the late Salim Alamir and lived in Westborough for many years.
Houda leaves her husband of 30 years, Charles A. Gammal, Jr. of Westborough; 2 sons, Charles A. Gammal III and Jameel Y. Gammal, 2 daughters, Roseann S. and April D. Gammal, all of Westborough; 3 brothers, Nicholas, Sam, and Charles Alamir; and 2 sisters, Lorice Elkhaouli and Rosemarie Robles.
Houda graduated from North Attleboro High School and received B.S. degrees in Biology and Psychology from Providence College. She was a devout Eastern Orthodox Christian, a loving wife, and dedicated her life to raising 4 beautiful children.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with Houda’s family on Thursday, January 8 from 9:30-11:00 AM in Saints Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church, 9 Central Street, Marlborough followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Houda’s memory be made to Saints Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church, 9 Central Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.
