STERLING – Alfred H. Keith, 74, of Sterling, died on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 in Leominster Hospital.
His wife, Virginia ( Lawson) Keith, died in 2000. He leaves his son, David B. Keith and his wife Sharna of Sterling; a daughter, Kandy Davitt and her husband Robert of Deerfield, NH; a sister, Joanne Glover of Tucson, Arizona; four grandchildren, Sara and Erik Davitt, and Kyle and Cory Keith; and a longtime family friend, Carol (Wilbur) Edling. He was born in Coldsprings, NY the son of Cleve and Lavina (Bush) Keith and lived in Sterling since 1958.
Mr. Keith graduated from Atlantic Union College in Lancaster and worked 44 years for Van Ben Industries in Clinton, retiring as plant manager in 2002. He was a lifetime member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, attending the Village Church in South Lancaster. His life passions were his family, church, fundraising and Pathfinders where he was actively involved for 38 years. His fundraising efforts allowed many young people from his church to attend International Camporees in Pennsylvania, Colorado and Wisconsin.
A memorial service for Mr. Keith will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2007 in the Seventh-Day Adventist Village Church, 75 Sawyer Street, South Lancaster. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Clinton Road, Sterling. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southern New England Conference in memory of Alfred Keith, c/o Youth Department, P.O. Box 1169, South Lancaster, MA 01561. Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, Sterling is directing arrangements.
