Hilda H. (Mackie) Forget

RUTLAND - Hilda H. (Mackie) Forget, 88, of Birchwood Road, died on Friday, November 18, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She was born in St. George, Maine, one of twelve children and the daughter of Finnish immigrants, Victor and Selma (Cook) Mackie, and lived over 50 years in Holden before moving to Rutland in 1998.

Her husband of over 40 years, Roland J. Forget died in 1997. She leaves her step-daughter, Joyce E. Anderson and her husband Paul of Rutland; five grandchildren, Kevin Anderson, Kimberly Gamblin, Kristine Rhodes, Ginger and Scott Forget; six great grandchildren, Ashley and Andrew Anderson, Justin and Jamie LaPointe, and Courtney and Jillian Gamblin.; many nephews and nieces. A step-son, Ronald D. Forget, predeceased her.

Mrs. Forget graduated from St. George High School in Maine and worked at the Devereux School in Rutland for 25 years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and the Friends of the Rutland Council on Aging where she played bingo. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed needlepoint.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 21, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Mrs. Forget will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, November 22, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1326 Main Street (Rte. 122A) in Holden.
