Biography
WORCESTER - Hilda (Aronovitz) Sachs, age 89, formerly of 1 Balmoral Street, died on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Jewish Healthcare Center.
Her husband of 53 years, Seymour Sachs, died in 1995. She leaves two sons, Denis Sachs and his wife, Barbara, of Northborough and Steven Sachs of Worcester; a daughter, Beth Sachs and her long time companion, Harold Smith, of Auburn; a brother, Marshall Arnold and his wife, Ruth of Worcester; a sister, Barbara Bogle of Florida; 4 grandchildren, David Sachs and his wife, Susan, Cindy Steiger and her husband, Rod, Sandra St. Laurent, Donna Brissette and Dori; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Linda R. Sachs and her daughter-in-law, June Sachs, her brothers, Victor, Herb, and Jack Arnold; two sisters, Edith Lainer and Sally Krock.
She was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of Samuel and Bessie (Racimov) Aronovitz. She spent many winters in Palm Beach, Florida.
She worked for many years in retail and for over 20 years, at Sprague Electric Company.
The family wishes to thank everyone on the 5th floor of the Jewish Healthcare Center for their compassionate and wonderful care.
GRAVESIDE FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 11:00 A.M. ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 21, AT HOLY SOCIETY CEMETERY ON HAVANA ROAD IN LEICESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN.
Memorial Observance will be held through Friday afternoon at the residence of Denis and Barbara Sachs, 1 Babcock Drive, Northborough.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
