WORCESTER – Herbert “Pete” S. Peterson, 90, formerly of Holden, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 16, 2022. Born and raised in Holden, Pete was the son of Edward S. and Viola (Fredrickson) Peterson and lived the last 37 years in Worcester. His first wife of 30 years, Janet F. (Wolske) Peterson died in 1983.
His wife of 34 years, Charlotte J. (Philips) Brunell died in 2020. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by two sons, Paul F. Peterson and his wife, Carolyn of St. Mary’s, Georgia and Jon E. Peterson of Worcester; a daughter, Kristin M. Tupper and her husband, Bill of Holden; two stepsons, Robert S. Brunell and his companion, Brenda of Worcester and Jeffrey S. Brunelle and his wife, Tara of Hollywood, Florida; a sister, Linda Strong of Grantham, New Hampshire; 12 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Pete is also predeceased by his son, Eric S. Peterson and a brother, Arnie Peterson.
Pete graduated from Holden High School and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He was a proud member of Skull and The Bohemians.
He was president of Simplitroll Co. where he worked for many years. Pete later owned and operated K&D Magmotor Company.
He was a longtime member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Worcester where he served as a lay reader. He was presently a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Holden.
Pete was a devoted family man. He cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his kind-heartedness and gentle nature.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Pete’s family from 11:30 am to 1 pm on Saturday, February 26, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
