PRINCETON - Herbert B.P. Bingham, 81, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, after an illness. He was born in Fitchburg, the son of Belding E. and Marjorie S. (Prentiss) Bingham and had lived in Maryland before moving back to Princeton in 1979.
He leaves his sons, Douglas S. Bingham and his wife, Yu of Port St. Lucie, FL and Stephen M. Bingham, and his life partner, Debra McRae of Worcester; his five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Carol (McNamara) Bingham and his wife, Linda (Quaintance) Bingham, as well as his sisters Emily E. (Bingham) Miller and Marjorie J. (Bingham) Perkins.
After graduating from Wachusett Regional High School, Herbert enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He proudly served his country from 1959 to 1962 at Andrews Air Force Base. He worked at Sears and Roebuck in Annapolis as a shoe salesman and later became hardware and paint department manager. Herbert was the director of materials for Hayes Pump and Machinery in West Concord before retiring in 2009. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and watching Stock Car racing.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13th at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Funeral services for Herbert will be held on Wednesday, June 14th at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. A private committal service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.
