PAXTON – Henry R. Malkasian, 93, of 70 Briarwood Circle, Worcester, formerly of Paxton, died on Friday, April 27, 2007, in UMass Memorial Healthcare after an illness.
He leaves a sister, Virginia M. Steelman of Worcester; eight nephews and nieces, Alan Malkasian of South Dennis, Neil Malkasian of White Fish, MT, Steven Malkasian of Paxton, Mark Malkasian of Holden, Robin Malkasian of Hebron, CT, Scott Malkasian of Princeton, Lisa Himmer of Oakham and Karen Derby of Worcester; seven great nephews and nieces; and several great-great nephews and nieces. Three brothers and a sister predeceased him. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island the son of Hagop and Sophie (Eskender) Malkasian. He lived many years in Sutton and 38 years in Paxton before moving to Worcester in 2004.
Mr. Malkasian graduated from Sutton High School and was a journeyman mold maker at Roger Tool and Die Company in Worcester, where he worked for 39 years, retiring in 1988. His passion was working at his family’s business in Worcester. He enjoyed gardening.
A funeral service for Mr. Malkasian will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Howard Cemetery, Sutton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Briarwood Residence Association, 65 Briarwood Circle, Worcester, MA 01606.
