STERLING – Henry N. Lanciani, 80, of 304 Leominster Road, a life-long resident of Sterling, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, September 14, 2006, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 59 years, Anita M. (Brooks) Lanciani; two daughters, Paula and Sheila Lanciani both of Sterling; two brothers, Patsy and Thomas Lanciani both of Sterling; a sister, Esther Giambrocco of Sterling; three grandchildren, Thomas Saucier and his wife Marlene of Lunenburg, Michael Saucier and his wife Nancy of Leominster, and Henry Hawkins and his wife Melissa of Sterling; six great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Sterling, son of Nunzio and Anna (Moreschi) Lanciani. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, 411 Quartermaster Airborne Company 17th Airborne Division, serving in the European Theater.
Mr. Lanciani owned and operated Henry N. Lanciani Sales in Sterling for 53 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Church and the Hiram O. Taylor American Legion Post 189 in Sterling. He was also a lifetime member of the Hundred Club of Mass., Inc.
The funeral Mass for Mr. Lanciani will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 18, in St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Clinton Road (Rte. 62), Sterling. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Lanciani’s name may be made to the UMass Memorial Hospice, c/o UMass Memorial Foundation, P.O.
