STERLING – Henry H. Morse, 84, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Gardner on November 23, 1937, Henry was the son of H. Raymond and Barbara (Howard) Morse. He lived in Westminster most of his life. He then met and married Joan Kush and moved to Sterling.
After graduating high school, Henry proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Wilson. Upon returning home, he started his own gas station, Henry’s Service Station which he ran for many years. He then formed Henry’s Garage which partnered with MW Clark Excavation doing heavy equipment repair. He taught his sons the trade and one of his sons continues to carry on his legacy owning his own heavy equipment repair business. Henry rounded out his career as a truck driver in his later years.
To say Henry was an avid car enthusiast would be an understatement. His passion was acquiring and restoring classic cars of different makes and models, filling his garage with an impressive collection that grew greatly over the years.
He was a charter member of the Gardner Horseshoe Club and took many first-place awards. He enjoyed this sport with his daughter more recently and she continues to carry on the tradition.
Henry will be lovingly missed and remembered by his devoted children and spouses, Carol (Andy) Kaski, Brian (Judy) Morse and Wayne (Julia) Morse, all of Westminster; his stepdaughter Lisa (Bob) Stanislaw of FL, his grandchildren, Laura Cullinane, Nicole Kaski, Caitlin Chartrand Sarah Morse, Nathan and Patrick Morse, and Joshua Sawyer; his great-grandchildren, Savannah, Carter, Russell, Donovan and Evangeline; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joan M. (Furmanick) Kush-Morse.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 23, at the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 24th at Woodside Cemetery, 9 Narrows Road in Westminster.
