WORCESTER– Henry "Bud" J. Lange, Jr., 84, formerly of Princeton and Athol, died peacefully on Saturday, January 1, 2011.
He is survived by his sister, Patricia L. Benicaso and her husband Jerry of Paxton; several nieces and nephews; and grand-nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Ruth M. Stimpson. He was born in Athol, the son of Henry J. and Theresa M. (Tougas) Lange.
Henry was a Navy Veteran of World War II and received the Asiatic Pacific Area Service Ribbon with One Star. He was a machinist for the Union Twist Drill Co. in Athol. He later worked in maintenance for Maria Assumption School in Petersham and Anna Maria College in Paxton before retiring. He was a member of the Edward H. Philips American Legion Post 102 in Athol for 65 years and was an avid fisherman.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 14th, in Gethsemane Cemetery, Fielding Way, Athol. A memorial service for Mr. Lange will be held on Saturday, January 15th, with a 4 p.m. Mass in St. Columba Church, 18 Richards Ave., Paxton, MA 01612. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Columba Church. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
