Helen T. Evans

WORCESTER – Helen T. "Dutsy" (Clarke) Evans of Worcester, died on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 in the company of her loving family in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester.

She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Philip J. Evans who died in 1988. She is survived by her son, Richard Clarke Evans of Worcester; 5 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother, Paul Irving Clarke and two sisters, Lillian Stanick and Emma Thunberg. She was born in Worcester the daughter of Daniel and Olga (Fegreus) Clarke and lived in Worcester her entire life.

Mrs. Evans graduated from Commerce High School and was employed by Norton Company in Worcester for 25 years. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Worcester and especially enjoyed the company and care of all her close nieces, nephews and cousins and will be dearly missed by all of them.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 2nd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral service for Mrs. Evans will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 3rd in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mercy Centre, 25 West Chester Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
