HOLDEN – Helen A. (McGann) Fales Carlson, 93, of 307 Shrewsbury Street, died Thursday July 8, 2004, in the Christopher House, Worcester after an illness.
Her husband, Clarence F. Carlson, died in 1991. She leaves two sons, Ernest D. Fales of Rutland and William D. Fales of Phoenix, Arizona; a daughter, Alice H. Keith of New River, Arizona; two brothers, Thomas M. McGann of Hollywood, Florida and William McGann of Princeton; two sisters, Catherine Livingston of Paxton and Mary T. Jenza of Holden; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; many nephews and nieces. Her first husband, Ernest D. Fales, died in 1969. She was born in Rutland, daughter of Michael M. and Mary (Swenson) McGann, lived many years in Princeton and over 30 years in Holden.
Mrs. McGann worked for the Barre Wool Combing Company in South Barre for 15 years. She was a member of the Chaffin Congregational Church and enjoyed working in her garden.
A funeral service for Mrs. Carlson will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 12, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, 142 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 11, in the funeral home.
