Helen M. (Allen) Huggett

PAXTON – Helen M. (Allen) Huggett, 95, passed on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Christopher House in Worcester after an illness. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of John T. and Elizabeth F. (Whalen) Allen and graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. Her loving husband of 71 years, Ralph D. Huggett, passed away in 2015. She leaves two grandchildren, Dr. Heidi H. O’Connor and her husband, Marc of Waltham, and Andrew Huggett and his wife, Priya of San Diego, CA; and two great-grandchildren, Logan and Chloe Helen Huggett; her sister, Ruth Costa of Worcester; her sister-in-law, Ethel A. Cole of Spring Hill, Florida; her niece, Sandra Costa of Worcester; and her nephew, Gregory Costa and his wife, Susan of Worcester. She was predeceased by her son, Deane R. Huggett; her brother, Thomas Allen; two sisters, Lillian Finnerty and Frances Berry; and her sister-in-law, Bertha E. Seed. Helen was a supervisor at Paul Revere Ins. Co. in Worcester for many years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of St. Columba Church and a lifetime member of the Paxton Woman’s Club. In her spare time, Helen enjoyed gardening, knitting, crossword puzzles, reading and watching and feeding the birds. She also was an avid Boston sports fan and loved watching golf with her family. A private graveside service for Helen was held on Wednesday, October 25th at Mooreland Cemetery in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Abby’s House, 52 High Street, Worcester, MA 01609, or to a charity of one’s choice.
