Worcester – Our dear Hazbije Gjata, 91, died peacefully at home on Saturday, August 31, 2024. She was born and raised in Novasele, Albania. She married the love of her life Safet Gjata and settled in Cangonj Albania. She had three kids that she loved and raised with a lot of sacrifices. Hazbije received her early education in Albania and later worked as a preschool teacher there. She was a gifted craftswoman and especially enjoyed making clothes for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her legacy is one of love and devotion to her family and she will be deeply missed. Hazbije was predeceased by her beloved husband, Safet Gjata in 2004. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Mimoza Baliko in 2023. She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her son, Pellumb Gjata and his wife, Majlinda of Worcester; her daughter, Merita xhafi and her husband, Alfred of Italy; her sisters, Lumturie Ajazi, Dallendyshe Bilali and Hajdine Lico; her grandchildren, Klajdi Gjata and his wife, Elza, Redina Gjata, Orela Gjata, Evisa Baliko, Ledion Baliko, Sabina Xhafi and Kamila Xhafi; her great-grandchildren, Aria, Ryder, Alexander, Adriel, Giorgia and Daniel; as well as several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Funeral services and burial will be held at a later date in Cangonj, Devoll Albania.
