WORCESTER/ NEWTON - Harriet Rome Pemstein passed away on December 26th in Newton, MA. She was born in 1929 in Worcester, MA, the only child of Dora and Myer Pemstein. She is survived by many Pemstein and Rome cousins. Harriet began her career in New York at NBC News. She lived for several years in Israel working at Hebrew University, and she had a deep and abiding love for the country and the people. She returned to the United States to care for her ailing mother, and worked at the Museum of Fine Arts. Most recently, Harriet lived at Lasell Village in Auburndale, where she left many friends.
The funeral will be a private graveside service at B’nai Brith Cemetery on Monday, December 28th. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice with notice to her cousin Alan Pemstein.
