He was predeceased by his wife Mary (Wright) Wronski who died in 2010, and brothers Myron, Chester, and Edwin all of Sterling.
Harold was born on July 31, 1926 at his family’s farm, now known as the Stillwater Farm, the son of Polish immigrants Joseph and Salomea (Nosel) Wronski. During his boyhood he helped his siblings and mother run their dairy farm, while his father worked at U.S. Steel in Worcester. At the age eighteen, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and honorably served his country in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre aboard the USS St. Joseph's River, medium class landing ship. In 1947, Harold met the love of his life, Mary E. Wright, during a business trip to Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada while purchasing livestock for the family farm. They married and eventually settled in Sterling where they raised their two daughters. He worked as a mechanic for Suprenant Cable of Clinton and later as a foreman for Norton Company of Worcester for 23 years retiring in 1979. After his retirement, Harold and his wife operated a well-known family farm stand in Sterling for 25 years.
He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, canoeing, and deer hunting. He was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Church of Sterling, the Norco Sportsman Club of Princeton, Hiram O. Taylor American Legion Post 189 of Sterling and Elks Lodge of Clinton for many years. Harold cherished his family, camping in Maine, vacationing on Cape Cod, and playing Santa on Christmas Eve for his grandchildren. He possessed a great memory for stories over the years and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a kind and generous man who will be missed by everyone who knew him.
