Harold A. Moulton

February 26, 1925 — December 7, 2015

HOLDEN - Harold A. Moulton, Jr. 90, died peacefully on Monday, December 7, 2015 at the Vibra Hospital, Leicester. He was born in Shrewsbury, a son of the late Harold A. Moulton, Sr. and Clara (Caulfield) Moulton.

Harold graduated from North Brookfield school system and attained a Bachelors degree from Boston University School of Management. He was a proud Navy veteran of World War II attaining the rank of Lieutenant, j.g.

Harold worked for 31 years for the former Paul Revere Insurance Co., Worcester (now UNUM) before retiring. He held several positions with the company including eight years in their Canadian head office. He retired in 1987 as a second vice president. Following his retirement, Harold served as the project co-leader, along with Ed Robidoux in the renovation of the former Commerce High School into office space. Included in this project was the construction of a glass enclosed walkway over Walnut Street to connect the two buildings. Paul Revere received the “Silver Hammer Award” from the City of Worcester for this project.  With the move of UNUM’s office to the new building, the glass walkway was removed to separate the two buildings. He was a former member of Worcester Country Club for many years and served on their Board of Governors.

Harold was predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Frances M. (Rymacz) Moulton died in March. He is survived by his daughter, Christine Moulton of Holden. He was also predeceased by his two sisters, Phyllis and Adele.

Harold has said “my obituary probably should read that I was born, lived a very full life surrounded by family and friends, and died peacefully following a struggle with lung cancer”. He also would give the advice to anyone, “please do not smoke”.

There are no visiting hours. Burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery, North Brookfield will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Memorial donations may be made the to the American Lung Association, 1661 Worcester Rd., #301, Framingham, MA 01701.
