WORCESTER/HOLDEN – Henry “Hank” B. Dennis, 77, of Worcester, formerly of Holden, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 in the Christopher House, Worcester.
His wife of 50 years, Nancee E. (Berglund) died in August of 2005. He leaves his son, Paul H. Dennis and his wife Cheryl of Holden; two daughters, Linda M. Swiss and her husband Tyler of Anchorage, Alaska, and Karen N. Smith and her husband Christopher of Worcester; a sister, Helen E. Desroches of Worcester; three grandchildren, Bonnie and Tyler Dennis and Leah Swiss; and many nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Henry W. and Helen M. (Bennett) Dennis, and lived in Holden until moving to Worcester in 1995. He was a graduate of St. John’s High School in Worcester and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Dennis worked for Heald Machine Company in Worcester for 37 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and was a devoted catholic. He was an avid Red Sox fan and coached little league and Babe Ruth.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 30th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Mr. Dennis will be held on Friday, August 31st, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 23 Fales Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in All Faith’s Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608-1280.
