Guy Richard Elliott, Jr.

February 6, 1947 — July 31, 2022

AUBURN - Guy Richard Elliott, Jr. (Dick), 75, of Auburn, passed away peacefully in his home Sunday, July 31, 2022. It is hard to list all his lifelong accomplishments and capture the full life he had. “A life of no regrets” was his motto!

Dick had a life of many adventures of travel, education, and love of family. His bucket list was full of accomplishments that included a career of 45 years with Verizon as a sales rep, repair tech, special services tech, and a radio tech. He was a staunch supporter of the IBEW union. He was a proud Marine and served in the Marine Reserve as a radio/communications specialist at the Worcester Marine Reserve and the Air National Guard for 6 years.

He loved to travel, he made his way to all 7 continents and attended baseball games in every MLB park. Dick graduated from Auburn High, Boston State College, UMass Amherst, Clark University, Worcester State College, Bentley College, and Suffolk University, and attained a BA, MBA, and 3 Master’s degrees. In his spare time, he was an avid Amateur Radio operator and spent hours broadcasting to his "buddies" – all over the world. His favorite experience was meeting and broadcasting from the Russian station in Antarctica. After tuning 60, he found another hobby in triathlons. He participated in several and trained extensively. He engaged the team approach and was joined in the team events with his nieces and nephew participating in various legs of the race. His favorite was the Eppies Great Race in Sacramento, CA and a sister event, Josh Billings in the Berkshires – the two oldest triathlons.

He was devoted to his only daughter Jenna and her husband Omar and his lovely grandchildren Royce and Tinsley Rodriguez. Sunday was their special day for dinner together which he never missed. They were his traveling companions on many of his excursions to Spain and Hawaii to name just two.

Dick is survived by his daughter, Jenna Elliott-Rodriguez and her husband, Omar and grandchildren, Royce and Tinsley of Worcester, his sister, Madelyn Anusbigian of Shrewsbury, and brother, Kevin of West Hyannis Port. His nieces, Nancy Koutsoukounis of Worcester, Caitlin Elliott of Boston, Meaghan Elliott of USVI, and nephew, Richard Moore Fairfield, CT. He was predeceased by his parents, Guy Richard, Sr. and Madelyn (Darling) Elliott.

Visiting hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Saturday, August 6th at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Burial will be held at the convenience of family.
