Guri Stratoberdha

It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Guri Stratoberdha, on June 18th, 2024, at the age of 87 after a sudden decline in health. Guri was a man of honour, dedication, loyalty and a pillar of unwavering support for his family, with a loving personality who liked to make people laugh.
Guri was born on July 3, 1936, in Korce, Albania. He emigrated to the United States together with his wife Aferdita after winning the Green Card Lottery in 2001. He settled in Worcester, MA., a city he truly loved because it reminded him of his hometown of Korce.
For 23 years he resided at Ilyrian Gardens, where he was a very devoted and dedicated member of St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church. His memory will live on through his cherished wife Aferdita, his son Arjan and his wife Enkela Stratoberdha of Toronto, his daughter Anila Kulla and her husband, Agim of Toronto, 3 grandsons, Glendi, Kristi, Arens and a granddaughter, Mattea. He is predeceased by his parents Irakli and Frosina Stratoberdha, and his sister, Lirika Stratoberdha Ndini.
Though he may be gone, his spirit will forever shine brightly in our hearts and in those who knew him. There are no words to convey how much he will be missed by his family. May his beautiful soul rest in the Hands of the Good Lord.
Family and friends are invited to meet with Guri's family from 12:00 Noon - 1:00PM on Saturday, June 22, 2024, in St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street, Worcester. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Fr. Mark Doku officiating. Burial will be in Toronto, Canada as per his wishes where his children live.
If you wish to remember Guri, donations may be made in his name to St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street, Worcester 01609.
Arrangements are under the care of Philip G. Haddad, Jr., Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St. Holden.
