HOLDEN – Gunhilde “Gunnie” P. (Sakrison) Adams, 98, a resident at the Holden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, died peacefully on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospital after a short illness. She was born in Halland, Sweden, the daughter of Anders and Anna N. (Lundstrom) Sakrison and lived many years in Holden. Her husband of 59 years, Clifford L. Adams died in 1998.
She leaves and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Priscilla J. Gull of Holden; three sons, Robert C. Adams and his wife Joanna of Needham, Dean R. Adams and his wife Joanne of Melrose and Jeffrey L. Adams and his wife Bridget of Holden; a sister, Ebba Buckley of Ft. Myers, Florida; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Gull, Gina Anderson, Matthew Gull, Rob Adams, Kristofor Adams, Allison Harris, Sean Adams and Erin Adams; five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Zachary, Nathan, Laura and Naomi; a niece and several nephews. A granddaughter, Susanna Adams and a son-in-law, Michael Gull predeceased her.
Mrs. Adams graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester and enjoyed traveling and reading. She loved spending time with her family, in particular, summers spent at their lake house in Spencer. She was a member of Greendale People’s Church in Worcester, the former Wachusett Order of the Eastern Star in Holden and the Chaffin Women’s Club.
A memorial service honoring Mrs. Adams’ life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Interment will be private at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greendale People’s Church, 25 Francis Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
