Guilherme 'Gui' N. Sobral

May 21, 1989 — November 14, 2010

LANCASTER - Guilherme "Gui" N. Sobral, 21, of George Hill Road, died on Sunday, November 14, 2010, in UMass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus, Worcester, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Gui Sobral was born in Brazil on May 21, 1989. He came to the United States when he was four years old. He was Jose and Maria Sobral's only child. He leaves his maternal grandparents, Octacilio and Lezina (Ribeiro) Narciso; his paternal grandparents, Jose Jorge Sobral and the late Maria (de Lourdes) Sobral; uncles, Idam Mendes, Dimas Narciso, Jaime dos Santos, Walter, Eduardo, Tiago, Edmilson de Moura and Miguel Reis; aunts, Sandra Mendes, Marta dos Santos, Sandra Reis, Joelma Sobral, Jorgiana Sobral, Joselia Sobral, Elenita Alves; and 16 cousins. Gui spent most of his life in Lancaster, MA where he captivated the hearts of so many friends.

Gui went to Browning Elementary school where he loved to help out as a patrol. He continued his studies at South Lancaster Academy which came to be his beloved school. His favorite activity was playing Basketball with his team, the "Unforgettable Crusaders". Some days he would come home so happy for their game victories. Some other days, not so happy. He would just say: "We lost today!"

Gui earned his High School diploma from SLA in 2008 where he was honored by the National Honor Society. He went on to study at Quinsigamond Community College Where he completed his degree in Criminal Justice with Associate in Science. He graduated in August of 2010 with highest honors. He was honored by the Phi Theta Kappa - Alpha Zeta Theta Chapter for having completed his degree with an outstanding GPA.
Lately GUI was attending the Worcester State College where he was pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. His dream was to become a Coast Guard pilot.
One page would not be enough to write about Gui's wonderful life, his friends, his dreams, his accomplishments, and specially the lives he touched.

He lived to love everyone he came to meet. We, his parents, could not have asked for a better son. He was a gift from God. The time he stayed with us was so short, like a gentle breeze that touches our face on a summer day, but his life, like a whisper of love, changed our existence forever.

His motto was "Never burn a bridge that you might have to cross one day."
