Grace B. (Simonds) Griffith

WEST BOYLSTON - Grace B. (Simonds) Griffith, 89, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 after a short illness. She was born in Boston, the daughter of Dana and Beatrice (Medrose) Simonds.
Her husband of 63 years, James Griffith, passed away in April, 2010. Together they had six children; Gail Nelson of Melrose, William "Bill" Griffith of Nashua, NH, James "Rick" Griffith Jr. of Saugus, Charles "Chuck" Griffith and his wife, Karen of ID and Tracey Gordon of Australia; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Nelson and his wife, Danielle of Newburyport, Samantha, Zackerry and Mackenzie Gordon of Australia, and Katie and Danny Griffith of ID; three sisters, Gladys Strong of Worcester, Natalie Oetinger of Nashua, NH and Janet Pickrell and her husband, Richard of FL; many nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply, Barbara Kerr, Pat Pepi, Alioce and Carl Zetterstrom; and her dear friends, Betsy Downer and Kathie Pauliukonis. Grace was also predeceased by her son, Michael and her sisters, Doris Simonds and Laura Ann Siebold.
Grace worked as an accounting clerk for Caldor for over 20 years. She enjoyed volunteering at the West Boylston Council on Aging. Grace was a member of the Oakdale United Methodist Church in West Boylston where she leaves many close friends.
A memorial service honoring and celebrating Grace's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 9th at the Oakdale United Methodist Church, 15 N. Main St., West Boylston. Burial will be private at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Wichendon, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114-2699.
