HOLDEN – Gordon J. Hannam, 73, of Jefferson, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester.
He leaves his loving wife, Elaine M. (Boucher) Hannam after 45 years of marriage. He also leaves his two daughters, Cheryl A. Hannam and Colleen R. Hannam and her companion, John MacGeachey all of Rutland; two sisters, Patricia Johnson of Sterling and Linda Smith of Richlands, North Carolina; two brothers, David Hannam of Jefferson and Kenneth Hannam of Worcester; his grandchildren whom he adored, Joshua and Julia Asmus and John Russell Hannam; nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Gordon was born in Worcester, the son of the late Patrick M. and Rita A. (Emond) Hannam. He proudly served his country with the US Navy as a Veteran of the Vietnam War.
He worked for Allegro Microsystems in Worcester for 38 years, retiring as a Buyer/Supervisor in 2004. Gordon loved Old Orchard Beach, Maine, having camp fires and spending his time with family and friends. Being an avid fan he also enjoyed spending time watching baseball.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Gordon’s family from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22 at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 23 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson with burial following at Notre Dame Cemetery, Webster Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, 10 Judith Road, Worcester, MA 01602.
