RUTLAND – Gordon B. Milne, 64, of 1 Milne Road, died Friday, July 16, 2004, in UMass Memorial Medical Center-Memorial Campus, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 43 years, Lillian E. (Senecal) Milne; two daughters, Wendy A. Swenson of Boylston, Kathleen Milne of Massachusetts; and seven grandchildren. A daughter, Susan M. Milne, and a brother, Paul J. Milne, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Henry and Matilda (Bryden) Milne, and lived in Rutland for 36 years. He served in the Coast Guard Reserves for eight years and was a graduate of University of Massachusetts at Amherst - Stockbridge School of Agriculture.
Mr. Milne worked in the Kiln Department at Norton Company for many years. He enjoyed gardening, restoring old engines and spending time with his grandchildren.
The funeral Mass for Mr. Milne will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 19, in St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, 142 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
